159 Steps

I felt the need for solitude and nature the other day so I went to Mingo Falls for a little quiet time. This is a beautiful spot and on a weekday there are few people. It is a good place to reflect and I was lucky to have the spot to myself most of the time. The 159 refers to the number of steps in the wooden stairs to the falls. After a while, I wrote a few short haiku verse reflecting my experience.

swift rushing water
flowing down the tall cliff side159_stairs
always in motion

the sound of nature
constantly shifting her mood
following her heart

fragrance rides the air
mixture of water and green
intoxicating

accepting its fate
the water follows the path
perfection always
