There’s so much to say
it’s so hard to do
the words they get jumbled
or come out in a spew.

Words are so odd
with meanings confused
nouns and verbs
seem the hardest to use.

Adverbs and adjectives
fall in behind
and pronouns well
just mess with the mind.

Prepositions seem dull
and can’t stand alone
conjunctions connect
in a world all their own.

Interjections, Oh Wow!
what can one say
My Goodness! they’re used
throughout the long day.

A word comes out
with meaning that’s clear
but seems to get lost
from mouth to ear.

How can that be
one wonders sincere
the meaning clear cut
how did it shift gear?

Take a word so simple
like a flower or tree
what makes it so different
in what our minds see.

The answer so simple
yet truly complex
our life long experiences
that the mind projects.

One sees what one sees
there is no real blame
unless ones mindset
dictates them the same.

No matter how much
this vision is willed
we’re just not the same
different lives we did build.

That’s really ok
in fact it’s quite grand
we all have our story
by which we can stand.

So remember when talking
words create a maze
so don’t take it personal
if their eyes go a-glaze.

Keep it short keep it simple
stick to the point
do the best that you can
you won’t disappoint.

If that doesn’t work
throw more words in the stew
make it bright and colorful
but have it sound true.

Never stop aiming
to make your voice heard
whether speaking with eloquence
or a message that’s blurred.

Practice will help
like learning in school
day to day interaction
really is the best tool.
